This was the 2025 User Conference

On November 13th, the annual Vertec User Conference took place in “THE HALL” in Dübendorf. More than 200 customers and partners took the opportunity to network, gain exciting first-hand insights and maintain a personal dialogue.

We take a look back at the most important moments and topics of this year’s User Conference.

The guests were welcomed by Urs Berli, Sales Manager at Vertec, who gave the event a charming and humorous start. This year around, he surprised the audience with a couple of entertaining facts about chocolate consumption in Switzerland.

A look back and forward

Afterwards, Tobias Häusler (Development Manager) and Tobias Wielki (Managing Director of Vertec Germany) gave an overview of the progress achieved in the past year. They also took a look ahead on what can be expected in the near future.

The focus was on improvements in the area of search and business intelligence. The full-text search was expanded to include a class filter and now also allows searching of Excel and PowerPoint files – a clear added value for those who regularly work with extensive documentation. In the area of business intelligence (BI), the two presented new additional features and KPIs, including for opportunities, as well as a revised master folder for controlling and BI. In addition, BI metrics can now be shown directly in list views, which further increases transparency and simplifies access to relevant information in everyday work.

From individual solutions to integrated standardization

VISCHER AG has been working successfully with Vertec for many years – and has made the software a central part of their day-to-day work. In a conversation with Dr. Christian Oetiker (Managing Partner, VISCHER AG), Alec Zehnder (Project Manager, Vertec AG) showed live how the firm has transformed its formerly individual custom solutions step by step into an integrated standard environment. The focus was less on technology than on benefits: more efficient processes, consistent data and less maintenance effort.

Christian Oetiker made it clear how important it is to further develop processes and align them to a clear goal. This was particularly evident in the integrated conflict check, which is now fully reproduced in Vertec and makes duplicate data entry unnecessary. The subsequent live demo impressively demonstrated how standardization can simplify everyday work.

AI Know-how Management in Vertec

A special highlight of the afternoon was the presentation by Dorian Selz (Co-Founder & CEO Squirro) and Claudio Pietra (Management Team Vertec). They showed how the existing knowledge in Vertec can be used even better in the future – with the help of AI-supported know-how management.

The idea behind this is that Vertec contains a wealth of valuable information, from activities and documents to project data and invoices. By combining this information with modern Large Language Models (LLMs) and a Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) system, a whole new approach to business knowledge is created.

Together with Squirro, Vertec is working to put this technology into practice. The goal is to make information from Vertec directly accessible through an intuitive chat interface, such as “Who last worked on this project?” or “Which customers have similar needs?”

This way, artificial intelligence becomes a tool that helps find knowledge faster, recognize connections and eventually letting you come to more consolidated decisions.

Processes thought through to the end

Jacob Schulte am Hülse (Chairman of the Board of Directors, Aietes AG) impressively demonstrated some definitive processes involving several interfaces between employees and customers. What used to involve a lot of manual work is now completely digitized. Information is available at all times and processes work smoothly without media interruptions. This not only reduces sources of errors, but also improves collaboration with customers and transparency between internal teams and customers.

Roadmap, Outlook and Feedback

Finally, Claudio Pietra and Tobias Häusler gave insights into the upcoming developments, focusing on topics such as AI-supported know-how management, automatic receipt recognition for creditors and legally compliant document sealing. With the next version of Vertec 7.0, users can also expect a modern design, new dashboards and a uniform user experience across all platforms.

At the end of the session, participants had the opportunity, as always, to give direct feedback via a live survey and to submit their own wishes.

After the exciting presentations, attendees took the opportunity to exchange ideas and network at various information booths. At the Vertec booths, they could meet our support team, learn about our additional features or special topics such as Business Intelligence and AI know-how management, or prove their knowledge in a Vertec quiz session and win Vertec socks.

Our (sales) partners appGenerics GmbH, Lean Business AG, Spektra Netcom AG, Octoiur and Squirro also joined the event and were very happy talking to the guests.

Particularly popular were the "industry booths", where lawyers, engineers, IT service providers, software vendors and fiduciaries flocked together and networked in a relaxed atmosphere.

The food was also well taken care of: The courses served in the Flying Service were extremely well received and ensured many satisfied faces.
