Under the umbrella of the Geoterra Group AG, 14 legally and financially independent companies are grouped at a total of 41 locations in the greater Zurich area, in central and eastern Switzerland and in Ticino. The holding company is independent and fully owned by the managing partners, who are thus personally and financially responsible for all the companies of the Group. In accordance with the requirements of the market, the Geoterra Group operates in different areas with different profiles. For example, she acts as a generalist and overall manager in infrastructure construction and as a reliable partner to the public sector in multi-year cases in municipal engineering and surveying, or as an entrepreneurial thinker for individual, innovative solutions in civil engineering and surveying.
Vertec Base Package, Budgeting Package
A major difference is that Vertec is not a proprietary system, as you know it from other vendors. Vertec is open: you have access to the database, you can customize yourself, and everything is open. That is certainly one of the big advantages. In addition, the fact that it is a Swiss software developed close to us in Zurich was another important reason. There are other Swiss software solutions, but this combination of openness and proximity distinguishes Vertec from solutions such as SAP or similar systems.
We are supported very directly and have a fixed contact person – the project leader remains with us even after the project has been completed. This means that access is uncomplicated at any time. The support is also flatly organised, so that we can quickly obtain information and solutions.
In everyday life, we benefit most from the classic service and time recording, the recording of expenses and the processing of entire projects including post-calculations. These are the areas in which Vertec brings the greatest added value to our daily work.
We are particularly enthusiastic about customizing: We can implement a lot ourselves and are therefore not necessarily dependent on external support – even if we use it when necessary. The fact that everything is disclosed and that you can also find a lot of useful information in the Knowledge Base and in the Forum is what makes it particularly attractive for us.
The greatest benefit lies in the time tracking for employees, i.e. time recording, as well as in the extensive evaluation options, e.g. when generating lists. These are the areas that bring us the greatest added value.
Wehave done a lot ourselves. For example, we current have automated expense reporting that runs on its own. Wehave also recently integrated Microsoft Teams, which has been pushed a lot internally: When a project is opened, a matching team is now automatically created – with the same project number, so everything is neatly linked. We developed this solution ourselves, and it works flawlessly.
Another important point is that when a project kickoff, the corresponding folder structure is created in addition to teams. When a project is completed, an archiving process automatically runs in the background for the data on the file storage – and, more recently, for the associated project in teams. These are the points that we would like to highlight in particular.
