User groups and user levels

How to use user groups correctly in Vertec

How this feature creates benefits

User groups and user levels greatly simplify rights and user management in Vertec. Administrators can efficiently apply changes to entire groups, while employees automatically receive access rights and settings that are relevant to them.

User groups and user levels provide structured management of rights, home folders and standard working hours, and allow consistent user rights and settings to be assigned to multiple users at the same time. This makes administration a lot simpler and ensures a clear allocation of roles and rights across your organization.

  • Centralized control of user rights for entire groups
  • Definition of visible folders and standard working hours per group
  • Simplified management by assigning users to groups

How it works

Creation of user groups

User groups are created in Vertec to bring users together and assign them common settings. Each user group can fulfill three basic purposes:

  • User rights: Control which data can be read, edited or deleted
  • Base folder: Definition of which folders are visible in the user interface
  • Standard working hours: Manage working time targets for group members

Combination of groups

  • A user can also be a member of several groups with combined user rights
  • The principle “allow before ban” applies

Best Practices

For a clean structure, it is recommended to separate user groups according to their purpose:

  • Groups for user rights
  • Groups for standard working hours
  • Groups for base folders

In this way, the authorization system remains transparent and easy to administer.
