How this feature creates benefits
This additional feature enables automated verification of persons and contacts for compliance-relevant information. It expands the KYC process in Law Firm Management to include a verification via the platform Company.info. This enables the efficient identification of risks such as sanctions or political exposure.
Companies benefit from:
- Increased legal certainty in the initiation and maintenance of business through systematic compliance checks
- Saves time by initiating and documenting relevant tests directly out of Vertec
- Reduces manual errors as results are automatically applied and saved
- Traceability through automatic logging in the comment field.
This feature supports both Cloud and On-Premises operation.
How it works
The compliance check is performed via the external platform Company.info and complements the existing KYC feature available for Vertec.
Prerequisites:
- Access to the Company.info platform with license for the KYC API
- Additional feature KYC must already be imported
- Allocation of users to group KYC checks
- Entry of the API key in the system settings under the tab Addresses
Procedure of the test:
New options become available after the import.
- Button “Compliance Check” in the People area
- The section "Sanctions" is added to the contact page
Prerequisites for a screening process:
- First and last name must be given
Possible results:
- Case 1: No hits – results can be saved
- Case 2: Single person found – decision between detailed screening or exclusion as a PEP
- Case 3: Multiple hits – list of all people found
- Case 4: Relationship to a politically exposed person is recognized
All results are automatically documented in the “Further Info” section under remarks.

How can Vertec be connected to a document management system?
Vertec has an interface to Microsoft SharePoint Online (Microsoft 365). The Vertec sales partner Lean Business AG distributes an M-Files Connector for Vertec. Customer-specific extensions also exist for the DMS iManage, for example.
How secure is data in Vertec?
In order to provide the Vertec Cloud Suite, we use the infrastructure of external service providers based in Switzerland, Germany and Austria. We guarantee our customers a high standard in dealing with information security.

Does Vertec also run on a Mac?
Yes, Vertec can be used on Macs using the Web App. The Web App works with the most common browsers. The Web App accesses exactly the same business logic that runs on an application server. The pages can also be parameterized, and the functions are available from anywhere. Limitations in comparison to the Windows apps can mainly be found in extensions. Mobile use is possible via the modern Phone App, which is available for free for both iOS and Android.
Can I import customer addresses from existing systems into Vertec?
Yes, you can use an existing Excel template to import customer data such as address and telephone numbers from your previous program or address book into Vertec (see also Address Import). Alternatively, individual address migrations from existing databases are also possible.
