You can enter any number of communication channels for each address. Five communication channel types have been predefined: telephone, mobile, fax, email, homepage and - new with Vertec 6.8 -  LinkedIn.  

If more than one communication channel of the same type is listed (below, two e-mail addresses), you can define one of the entries as the default by checking the box in the Default column. If such a communication channel is used, for example in a report, the default communication channel can be used.

You can define the communication channel more precisely in the Designation column. In the Channel column, the communication channel type is selected.

Communication channel for contacts and couples

For contacts and couples, the communication channels of the assigned accounts and persons are shown. However, you can also specify your own communication channels directly on the contact or couple. Such directly entered communication channels become the default on this entry and are recognized by the fact that they appear green in the list:

Actions on communication channels

If communication channels are assigned to one of the predefined types, the following actions are available directly on the communication channel. You can trigger them via the right mouse button in the gray field of the desired channel:

  • Homepage: Go to homepage
  • Email: Send email
  • Fax: Call
  • Mobile: Call
  • Telephone: Call
  • LinkedIn: Go to LinkedIn

Defining other communication channel types

You can create other communication channel types under Settings > CRM > Communication channels.

Accessing communication channels via OCL

You can access the default communication channels (all those checked under Default column) via OCL as follows:

  • Phone: defaultTelephone
  • Mobile: defaultMobile
  • Fax: defaultFax
  • Email: defaultEmail
  • Homepage: defaultHomepage
  • LinkedIn:  defaultLinkedIn

You can access all the communication channels of an address via kommMittel. From there, you can filter by Designation or by type (kommmittel->select(typ.internertyp.asstring='T') or show the number via zieladresse.
