BI KPIs for lawyers

When you import this config set, the root folder Controlling and BI is created. This contains the subfolder Lawyer KPIs. This is particularly useful for law firms that work with cases. The measures provide an overview of internal/external hours, productivity, charged services as well as turnover and write-offs per employee. Furthermore, the chargeable and factually charged hourly rate per employee is shown across all cases.

To edit and access the folder, the users must be assigned to the Folder access Controlling and BI user group.

Application

The config set creates the subfolder in the Controlling and BI root folder, which is shown in the folder structure as follows:

Note: Lawyer KPIs are also available on the individual user or in lists of users.

The data is regularly calculated either via a scheduled task during the night or is initiated manually, if you want to see the BI measures directly.

Part one

The following BI views are grouped by employee:

1. Client work vs. internal processes
2. Productivity

In the first BI view, the work effort on a case is shown in hours. Essentially, the external and internal services on productive or unproductive cases (both charged and uncharged) are compared here. The BI measures External hours productive, Internal hours productive and Internal hours unproductive are available.

Other measures such as External hours charged productive and Internal hours charged productive can be added to show only the factually charged hours. These measures are not automatically shown by default.

In addition, the productivity, i.e. the recorded entered hours on productive cases compared to the total invested hours, is presented.

Part two

The following BI views are grouped by employees:

1. Chargeability
2. Hourly rate
3. Turnover and write-offs

The chargeability represents the percentage ratio between the internal and external chargeable hours on productive cases. For this purpose, the chargeable and factually charged hourly rate as well as the revenues and write-offs thereof are presented.
