Extend Vertec easily. That’s what additional features are all about. Within a few clicks, you can add more functionality to your Vertec installation. New additional features are regularly available for free download in the Knowledge Base. Depending on the feature, they either extend certain basic features or expand the scope of functionality by adding a completely new feature. In any case, a free added value for you in your Law Firm Software’s software.
Technically speaking, these are XML files that are imported. Additional features, for example, set up specific folder structures including user rights, evaluations, report templates, scripts and process automations, or implement additional features with additional classes and custom field items.
Connection to the largest network of Swiss lawyers
The additional feature “GetYourLawyer” represents a special added value. It establishes an extension to the largest Swiss lawyer network, Getyourlawyer, and thus allows Swiss lawyers to work more efficiently with Vertec.
It aims to simplify mandate management with the GetYourLawyer lawyer portal. The extension ensures that records do not have to be maintained in two systems. You still enter services and expenses in Vertec and then transfer them to GetYourLawyer with a simple click. This saves you a considerable amount of time.
Requirements and functionality
- You need a user account at GetYourLawyer.ch
Once the additional feature has been downloaded and installed, some settings are made in the system settings “Case” first. To automatically connect Vertec to GetYourLawyer, a token must be stored in Vertec, which you will receive from GetYourLawyer. Furthermore, Vertec must know the Internet address at which the GetYourLawyer API can be reached. This URL must also be stored in Vertec.
The next step is to identify those employees whose services and expenses are to be transferred from Vertec to GetYourLawyer. To do this, each of these employees needs a valid lawyer ID from GetYourLawyer. This is called “lawyer ID” and can be found in the processor settings.

In return, in order for GetYourLawyer to be able to identify the Vertec users and assign the services correctly, the lawyer ID must also be stored on the respective user in Vertec. In Vertec, the lawyer ID is called “GetYourLawyer ID,” and it is entered on the respective user in the field GetYourLawyer ID on the page “More Info” in the field GetYourLawyer ID.

Before services and expenses can be transferred in the next step, the cases must be identified. To do this, a third parameter is required, the mandate reference from GetYourLawyer. You enter it in Vertec on the respective case under GetYourLawyer ID on the page “Further Info”.

Now the data transfer can take place. This is carried out in each case per case. As the figure below shows, a right-click on the respective case is sufficient, or you can go to “Datum transfer GetYourLawyer” in the “Actions” menu.

All open services and expenses of the case are always transferred. In the case of services and expenses already transferred, it is automatically checked whether the latest changes are newer than those in GetYourLawyer. If this is the case, an update is carried out.
Overview of data transfer
In the subfolder “GetYourLawyer data transfer” of the respective case, you will receive an overview of all open services and expenses of the case, including the current transfer status. Fail transfers are also shown there and can be corrected in Vertec. A new transfer attempt can then be started.
Invoicing
Invoicing is done directly in GetYourLawyer. However, entered services and expenses must also be charged in Vertec. There are two options for this:
- You create an invoice in Vertec on which you enter the GetYourLawyer fees as additional expenses. The charging should be done before transferring them to GetYourLawyer so that the fees are not transferred.
- They can charge services and expenses “internal”. This means that they are charged on a project of the type “unproductive”. The corresponding case type must be marked “internal”.
