How to connect the Vertec MCP server to Microsoft Copilot

Follow these steps to connect your Vertec mcp server to Microsoft Copilot.

In order to perform the connection, a Microsoft Dataverse must exist. This is provided in the Power Platform Admin Center.

Then log in to your Microsoft Copilot Studio.

Click on the Agent tile. At the top right, click Tools > Add > MCP Server. The following dialog appears:

Enter your details here:

  • Server name: You can choose this, e.g. Vertec MCP Server.
  • Server Description: Free Text to description the connection.
  • Server URL: Enter the URL to your Vertec MCP server, which can be found in your Vertec App Portal.
  • Select OAuth 2.0 for authentication and Dynamic (with discovery) for configuration type. Make sure that the Oauth2 dynamic client registration setting is activated in Vertec (default).

Click Add.

The Vertec login window arrives. Here the callback URL can be read. This must be entered in the Vertec system settings at Oauth2 client redirect url.

After that, the agent must be saved and published:

  • Click Publish in the top right corner
  • In the dialog, select Teams + Microsoft 365:
  • In the same dialog, click on the Availability options button. Another dialog opens.
    • For Organization, set Everyone in your organization and End user access.
    • Click on Share
  • Then click on Save and publish

Afterwards, the Vertec MCP server can be addressed in the Copilot Chat.
