UMB Consulting AG and Paninfo AG merged in 2012 to form UMB AG, becoming a leading Swiss IT service provider. In the course of the merger, the partner companies introduced Vertec ERP software – and were very satisfied with the rapid implementation of the project.

The merger of UMB Consulting AG and Paninfo AG brought together two established IT companies that had been successfully operating in the Swiss IT market for several decades. The new company is one of the major owner-managed Swiss IT service providers. The company designs and implements IT solutions, operates and monitors IT infrastructures and offers comprehensive consulting services. Almost half of the employees are certified IT engineers. UMB AG thus has enormous IT know-how. The six locations in German-speaking Switzerland and Ticino also enable the company to maintain close contact with its customers.
The head of finance of the new company decided to use the merger to switch to a unified ERP software. Since Vertec was already successful and established at UMB Consulting AG, they decided to use Vertec throughout the company after the merger. The implementation of the new software was applied out by the Vertec sales partner Spektra Netcom AG . The rapid implementation ensured satisfaction for the employees of UMB AG, who themselves work in the IT sector: “Spektra Netcom AG convinced us with its short response times and the rapid implementation of the order,” says Reto Lanfranconi, Head of Finance at UMB. The Vertec partner only needed three months to implement the implementation of the software and consolidate the company’s processes at the same time.
At UMB AG, projects and subprojects are opened using a wizard that Spektra Netcom has parameterized specifically for the company in Vertec. The input wizard queries all data that is relevant for the project kickoff step by step. Working with Vertec, UMB CFO Lanfranconi has also come to appreciate the Excel reports: “Vertec provides an overview of a customer history or the status of a project with just a few clicks.” This makes project controlling enormously easier, says Lanfranconi: “Our project leaders and account managers have access to the data and information they need at any time.”
