From prototyping to go live

In an implementation project, the Vertec software is adapted to your needs by your Vertec advisor and integrated into the existing IT infrastructure. Specific evaluations or a connection to an already existing system, e.g. financial accounting, are also possible without any problems.

Complex projects are implemented according to the proven prototyping process. The aim is to test the suitability of the software for the customer’s problem within the scope of a pre-project by means of a prototype. Central here is also the creation of an implementation concept, which forms the basis for the subsequent main project. This creates an ideal basis for our customers to be able to make a decision on the purchase of our software and the implementation project. Using rapid prototyping, individual topic blocks are implemented and validated in short iteration within a defined final goal. A consultant configures the optimal system together with you on location during iterative project meetings.

  • Pre-project: Definition of the system boundaries, elaboration of the specification, including prototyping, possibly analysis migration, presentation of the prototype, elaboration of the implementation concept, discussion of the results, planning of further steps.
  • Main project, implementation: completion of customizing, implementation reports, possibly migration, training of project leaders (training of other users usually by the customer’s core team), support in preparation for commissioning.
  • Follow-up project after “go-live,” minor adjustments.

The advantages of a pre-project:

  • By means of a small prototype, Vertec shows you solutions in the Vertec software for your customer-specific requirements.
  • Critical functions and issues are also addressed at an early stage, thereby reducing risks on both sides.
  • The focus is on the development of an implementation concept as the basis for the subsequent main project.
  • If existing master data and possibly also transaction data are to be applied, the migration concept will also be created as part of the pre-project. Of course, this also includes the data analysis of these existing data.
  • Only after the pre-project do you make the decision for the license purchase and the main project

 

Training

Vertec recommends that the core team members on the customer side build Vertec know-how as early as possible during the introduction phase.  Course basics and administration  for people who will provide internal Vertec support and for people at the extension between project execution and the finance department and HR (target time management).
