Multi-level rate system

Automatic and customizable calculation of hourly rates based on defined user and rate levels

How the rate system creates benefits

The multi-level rate system allows costs to be calculated automatically and correctly. Each user is assigned a user level, and each project a rate level. This results in a matrix of pre-set hourly rates that is automatically used when time tracking. This saves you time and avoids errors in the tariff setting. The structure can be clearly named, such as 'administration’ or 'support’, so that the management of the levels remains clear and comprehensible. Different currencies and service types can be specifically taken into account.

How it works

In Vertec you can

  • Enter any number of user levels with clear, meaningful names
  • Define rate levels, also freely selectable

In the rate table, which is also located there, enter the valid rates for each combination of user and rate level, taking into account:

  • Currencies: Select the appropriate project currency, only values for this currency are displayed.
  • Service types: You can either edit “All service types” or select individual task service typeselect If a task is defined separate service type, the general table will no longer be taken into account for it.

Vertec has four different rates (hourly rates) that you can enter per combination:

  • External: the rate you charge customers (actually charged service).
  • Costs: the internal standard cost ratestandard cost rate important for cost control and BI evaluations.
  • User: relevant for hourly wage processors.
  • Per diem: fixed raterate e.g. half-day or full-day in the case of flat-rate servicesservices

The assigned values apply in a specific hierarchy: In the event of collisions or special settings, the higher-priority rate applies, e.g. service type by phase, user by project, up to the general rate table or directly stored hourly rate. If fields are empty, the calculation is based on the hierarchy above.
