Functioning of the project-specific rate system
Basic principle and system structure
The project-specific rate system in Vertec is based on the linking of two hierarchies: Each person (user) receives its own processor rate level, and each project receives its own project rate level. The combination of these two levels results in the rate table, which automatically determines and applies the correct hourly rate for services.
Configuration and setup
In the system settings under “Rate system” you can entered any number of worker and project tariff levels. The rate table forms a matrix for each currency and service type – you can either use a general rate table for all service types or define specific rates for individual service types.
Different tariff approaches
Vertec enables different hourly rate approaches:
- External rate – the hourly rate charged by the customer.
- Cost approach – the internal standard cost rate, important for cost-benefit analysis.
- Operator approach – relevant to hourly pay; refers specifically to the user.
- Per diem – fixed amounts per (half) day, in particular for flat-rate service types.
Prioritization and hierarchy of tariff allocation
Rates are applied in a clearly defined order of precedence (priorities), for example, starting with rates explicitly assigned to phases, then with project or project type-level settings, up to the general rate table and finally with the operator approach. An empty field in the table does not mean zero, but passing to the next lower level. Change does not retroactively affect services already entered unless the recalculate hourly rate feature is used.

Can I add individual fields in customer management?
Vertec offers extensive customization options to optimally implement your processes. Custom fields can be created and used for customer management, among other things.
Can I access the customer history to see always the latest status?
If you update your customer history in Vertec, you can view it at any time. The history is filterable and is displayed either in an entire list or as a cluster of activities such as emails or phone calls. We call this the activity feed. Full-text search allows all authorized persons to search content stored in Vertec, including emails. With the Outlook AppOutlook App, you can see the activity feed of a contact directly in Outlook.
Can I save visit reports in the system and link them to following tasks?
You can document your appointments in Vertec. To do this, create activities and assign them to a project, a company or a contact. If necessary, you can create tasks with a due date and a responsible user.
Can I store mails directly in Vertec via Outlook?
Yes, with the Vertec Outlook AppOutlook App, you can assign mails directly to projects or contacts. These are linked in Vertec and automatically saved in the document storage. With the full text search, emails stored in Vertec can be searched by all authorized persons.
