Planning users and roles

Intuitive scheduling of your resources on users or Role

Added value through planning of users and roles

  • With this feature, you can efficiently plan resources – both specific employees (users) and Role or skills (via so-called planning editors) in Vertec.
  • Define flexible view types such as timesheets, pivot tables or graphs and control whether they relate to projects, phases or employees – ideal for optimizing resource utilization.
  • The economic benefit lies in the transparent capacity control, identification of congestion and the targeted use of resources to increase costs and efficiency.

This is how planning works

Presentation types and control of resource views

In Vertec, you configure the resource planning views and determine which view is available – table formats or graphical evaluations – and which classes they apply to (e.g., project workers, planning users, project, or project)phase

  • Available view types: time table, pivot table, capacity graph, utilization graph.
  • You can conditionally show, group, select icons, and define sorting to optimize usability.
  • For each relevant class, you can enrich several views specifically and control whether they are available for individual objects or lists.
Standard views for scheduling users and Role

Vertec already provides predefined views for different contexts – depending on your chosen planning level (project or phase level):

  • At project level: time tables and pivot tables for scheduling employees (users) to projects, including overview tables, capacity and utilization graphs
  • Phase Level: Analogously, there are time tables, pivot tables and graphs, but focused on phases and worker usage
Interactive planning and management of resources

Resource Planning provides a tool for processing and evaluating:

  • The period picker allows flexible periods.
  • Time tables allow direct entering of plan times by clicking (“Set plan values”) or by allocating free capacity.
  • Pivot tables visualize planning scenarios in matrix form, often with asterisks for easy addition of new entries.
  • Graphical evaluations such as capacity graphs and utilization graphs visually display free resources or congestion, including tooltip detailing and consideration of gross and net capacity.
Planner: The Flexible Role as a Resource

The planning editor serves as a placeholder for skills, role or employees not yet scheduled:

  • By default, planning editors have a capacity of 0, but have names and abbreviations and can be set inactive.
  • They are ideal for advance planning, when expertise is needed, or in early project phases before specific personnel are identified.
