Services Management – the kernel of Vertec
The Services Management is the kernel of Vertec Software. The data entered by the employee is used for the management of a project’s performance against targets through to the client being billed. It also takes into consideration time for overtime, holidays and non-productive activities. This information is used for costings and profitability analysis as it is also possible to book expenses and purchases to projects. Projects can be broken down to small levels like phases, where these controls can also be applied.
The services time can be entered either through the normal desktop screen or via the web which is updated immediately. Additionally, for the remote working employee, it is possible to enter the services details using the Vertec iPhone App.
Entering the data is done on a single screen. This can be made on a format that captures the time by day or entered on a weekly format. Switching between day and weekly is simple. The * symbol allows the user to add a new time entry. In the day view a mouse is not required.
Entering time From – To (Incl. Breaks)
Working times can also be captured by specifying valid times, including the ability to record a break or pause. This is then deducted automatically from the actual time.
All of the entry times can be parameterised individually, so you can also use the display to show To & From times as well as beaks and effective times.
Time Entry using Timer and Attendance List
The data entry of the services can be made in the Day View, it is also possible with the timer and the attendance list. Simply start the timer at the beginning of an activity and immediately stop it when that activity has ceased, such as to record a phone call.
On the time attendance list you will always be able to see exactly how much time has actually occurred. The Time and Attendance list can also be used separately and can be hidden in the system settings.
The Weekly Overview
A practical aid for the capturing data in the day view is the weekly summary table. It shows the total of the recorded time for the current and previous week. By a double click on the daily total shows the detailed view of that day.
In the weekly view, you can see the detailed activities set out in a table. This summaries by day and by group and can be amended by project, phase or activity. The rows in the week’s summary will be charged based on actual activities in the past 14 days. The bottom line of the table shows a * where additional services can be recorded.
In the table "Services overview" every employee can view their activities per week, month or year. As well as their current overtime and holiday entitlement. This table can be grouped by various criteria.
